Michael Magers, CPA: Experience includes 40 years in public accounting. Mike came to the firm from KPMG (formerly Peat Marwick Mitchell and Co.) after earning a BBA degree in Accounting in 1970 from Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business in Waco, Texas.

Mike has focused on taxation with many years of experience in taxation of individuals, corporations, estates, trusts and partnerships. In addition, he has prepared many federal estate and gift tax returns. He has also worked extensively with nonprofit entities, namely public charities and private foundations. Other areas of interest include business organizations with a view towards matching the right type of entity with the individual or group.

Community interests include regularly volunteering for and serving on the boards of nonprofit organizations in the arts, education and human services as well as religious organizations. Memberships in professional organizations include the AICPA, TSCPA, Estate Planning Council of North Texas.

Alan L. Lewis, CPA has been in public accounting since 1976, and with this firm since January of 1978. Al recognized early on the value of computerized accounting and spreadsheet analyses, implementing the firm’s first firm and client accounting systems on Apple II and IBM PC computers in the early 80s. The firm has never looked back, remaining on the edge of the technological curve.

Over the years he has been instrumental in the initial system design, setup, and implementation of small business accounting systems for the firm’s clients. He is a Quickbooks Pro Advisor and Sage Peachtree Partner, and currently assists clients with these and other accounting systems.

In addition to systems involvement, Al has deep experience in the areas of income and estate and gift taxation from both a planning and compliance perspective. He has assisted clients in their selection of entity type and has prepared thousands of returns for individuals, corporations, S corporations, and partnerships of all sizes, and trusts and estates as well as form 709 gift tax and form 706 estate tax returns for a substantial number of wealthy clients. Al has earned the trust of his clients and serves as trustee, executor, and director for several clients and their families, and occasionally represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service.

Al received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from North Texas State University in 1976, and his designation as Certified Public Accountant in January of 1979. He is a member of the Dallas Chapter and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Estate Planning Council of North Texas. T. Craig Anderson, CPA has been an accounting and tax professional for over 30 years working primarily with small and medium sized businesses. Craig earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Major in Accounting from Oklahoma State University in 1977. During college he gained a practical understanding of bookkeeping and accounting systems while working summers and semester breaks maintaining the manual double-entry set of books for his small corporate employer. Upon graduation from college Craig worked as a staff accountant for an Oklahoma City CPA firm focusing on the audit function. Clients included manufacturing, publishing, oil and gas, and retail sales among others.

In 1980 Craig became an accountant with Arnold N. Ablon and Co., CPAs and was awarded his Certified Public Accountant certificate in 1981. He is a member of the Dallas Chapter, Texas Society and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. During the 1980’s great strides in computerization of bookkeeping systems and income tax preparation were taking place within the accounting industry. The Ablon firm has consistently been on the cutting edge of this technology utilizing the most sophisticated income tax preparation software and small business accounting software.

With 30 years of tax return preparation experience, Craig has developed a broad understanding of the complexities involved with individual, corporate, partnership and fiduciary income tax returns including foreign issues. Craig also has expertise relating to tax-exempt organizations and the process of the Form 1023 Application for Recognition of Exemption. He has successfully assisted clients through this application process as well as the application for Small Business Administration inclusion in the 8(a) Business Development Program. Craig has successfully represented numerous clients before the Internal Revenue Service and has served as trustee and corporate board member for his clients.

Craig is a long-time member of the American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Texas including former Board member and Treasurer. He has served on the boards of Dallas Metoplex organizations such as the American Indian Arts Council and the American Indian Center. He was honored with the American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Texas award as 1994 American Indian of the Year for his volunteer and charitable work within the community. Roger L. Tenney, CPA

Roger has been an accounting and tax professional since 1981. He graduated Brigham Young University in 1981 with a degree in Accounting and received his CPA license in 1984.

As a CPA for over thirty years Roger has extensive experience in tax accounting, with a particular focus on trusts, partnerships, corporation returns, real estate, and section 1031 exchanges. In addition, he has considerable experience preparing financial statements for small, medium, and large clients. Roger is also an experienced consultant, consulting with companies large and small regarding any number of various issues that businesses face in today’s economy.

For larger clients Roger has broad experience with multi-state corporations and their associated tax accounting needs, including state corporation returns, franchise tax, and personal property renditions. He also has experience auditing pension plans and their related compliance requirements.
